BMW retro/cruiser?
« on: September 23, 2013, 06:47:03 PM »
Walking down the street tonite I spotted this BMW that looked  like an airhead.  Closer inspection revealed it as a new GTL1200, maybe with the liquid/air cooled cylinders?  Or maybe I have the letters in the wrong place.  Quick google search doesn't show any pics of what I saw.  Jugs were chromed fins & stick out in the breeze old school, factory side bags & funky molded top box with a part lower fairing & a bolt on cruiser style windscreen.  Overall it's kinda retro/cruiserish.  Maybe BMW is trying to one up Honda's retro CB1100A or CB1100 meets NCX?   If so, it needs some work IMO, sorry cell phone was dead or I woulda snapped some pics.  Anybody seen one?

Yea Bert, that was pretty much it.  Had colour matched bags & lowers with a clear flat cruiser style windscreen.

Brooze72, the bike in question is a BMW R1200C Phoenix or Montauk. Probably 1999-2001.I have one that's a 2001.

      We are known as Chromeheads.
