Do PD carbs on CB550k have a o ring for the float needle valve?
« on: September 25, 2013, 12:13:19 PM »
After taking apart my carbs for a cleaning my #1 carb is leaking from the float needle, I took the bowl off and can press the needle all the way up and it leaks gas (just a little, but it does). I can't find a good blowout diagram for the PD ones. Does anyone know if there is a O ring I forgot to shove up there or should I just get a new float needle valve?

thanks,
-Jon

The seat is pressed in there is no o-ring.

If you have a new valve then perhaps your seat is dirty.  If not, then maybe it's time for a new float valve.

Get Honda OEM float needles whenever possible.

Go to one of the Honda dealer sites or parts sellers (I personally use powersedge.com) so you can look at the parts fische on line. You can get the correct part number then just do an internet search on it to see who sells it.

However, know that just because someone lets you order a part doesn't mean that they have it in stock. Before I order I often send an e-mail or call to see if they actually have it.
