This is really making me want to get going on mine.   Hopefully, I'll get a chance to work on it this winter.

Keep an eye out for a few parts out your way. Right muffler and handle bars for me. Let me know what you might need.

Here's an alternative look. This bike is frequently parked near my office, but I have also seen it at Mods Vs Rockers a couple of times.

Today was two steps forward and one step back.

Forward..

Time for deep cleaning but first the front sprocket cover needed to be removed. Two screw rounded from PO. Thankfully, the only ones on the covers.



And finally..



Yup, this is what makes them hard to remove.



Backwards..

Was using a small wire to free the rust. The wire went in but not where I wanted it to go. Damn! It can be fixed but how and by who is the question. Would you braze it?  ::)



Forward..again..

Temporarily mounted swing arm. Had to use a shock off the spare. The shock cover was not as clean but the chrome was.



And a mock up.



Fenders and side covers already cleaned. Paint will not be mixed until Saturday so middle of next week before delivery.

I'd suggest you take it to a rad repair shop. They'll easily solder that pin hole for you.

Retirement is wonderful!  :D

Actually, I'm spending to much time out in the shop. Have other commitments that just keep getting postponed.

I am having fantastic results with the EvapoRust. The tank is looking great! Sure does clean bolts huh Greggo.  ;)

Started in @ 0400 hrs. this morning. In the cleaning stages for a few days.

First, we started on the front sprocket cover area.



Keep at it! Getting there. More of the area can be reached when I pull the left engine cover.



Good Lord!



Fortunately, All the seals are dry and everything looks to be in good shape.



Onward tomorrow.  ;)

While doing other projects. IE: working on the 160, I cleaned up the center stand area and test fitted the sealed battery.

I was blown away when I rinsed off my first batch of bolts from the sandcast.  It made me think real hard about re-plating them!  Well, I am plating them, but I sure wouldn't if it wasn't that bike ;)

Going to try and fix the tank tomorrow. I was told to use Silver Solder. I have rosin core so not sure if that will work.

Finished up the motor this morning. Still have the rear motor mount area to do.

Underside cleaned up nicely..





And the rest of the motor. Starter will be removed for painting so a little more to do in the area behind it.
