Anyone using Bridgestone BT45's?
« on: May 20, 2005, 09:16:26 AM »
I in the market for new tires for my 76 CB550F and am looking at the BT45's.  They just happen to come in the sizes needed and have a good sporty tread pattern.  Much better than the Cheng-shins I'm running now.

anybody have them on their 550 or 750, how do you like them?

I have them on my RD350 and I like them a lot. Very sporting and easy to handle. Bike leans easily with the rounded profile. If you are looking for sporty handling you will probably like this tire. Obviously heads above CS.
I also have Bridgestone S-11 Spitfires on my CB750F. Also somewhat sporting but one step down from the BT-45.
If you like to ride the twisties, I would suggest the 90/90 front for quicker handling. I have that on my 750.

Runnig Dunlop GT501's on my 1976 750F..The 130/80- 18 fits on the back fits no problem..100/90-19 on the front. Bike handles very well.. Shop around I paid approx. $80 a tire.

Not Bridgestone's but they work great at a reasonable cost.

Cheers,
David

Lots of "What Tyre?" threads here.

I have Avon Roadrunners on my 500:
Front AM20 90/90H19
Rear AM21 100/90H18

but Pirelli Phantoms on the 550:
Front MT59 325H19
Rear MT58 400H18

Interesting that the Pirelli's are measured in inches!

The Pirelli's look the business with a great tread pattern and a ribbed front but they seem to follow road irregularities and I think I prefer the Avons overall.
