Where does this Wire Go cb750K5
« on: November 15, 2013, 06:22:50 AM »
I thought I took enough pictures before I disassembled the bike, now I'm putting the wiring back together and can't figure out where this green wire mounts.  1975 CB750K

Also, if anyone else knows of some good threads showing where all the wiring is routed, please post links.

I believe that's a ground wire that is bolted to the frame via the lower seat lock bolt IIRC..

That green is ground to frame near by battery under the seat.  Manual will show you where to route the harness

Thanks guys, that makes sense.  The seat lock was still on in my pictures, so I didn't see it.  And well...  I disassembled the bike last spring.  My memory is not what it used to be.

An other related question here...  When I bought this bike the ground wire from the battery is short and attached to one of the tool tray mounting bolts.   I've seen other pictures, and like the one DH posted, where the ground off the battery is mounted the long rear engine mount bolt.   What's proper/better?

I'd opt for one (out of the elements) under your seat at the tool tray.

Mine is in the stock location. All I'll say is that there is more contact
area for the cable end on the frame, along with a bigger bolt providing
more clamping force. I've read that some locate the ground cable in
between the inside of the frame and the engine case itself. Never tried that tho, just put mine back to original.
