« on: November 26, 2013, 05:03:33 pm »
I noticed on a cb550 I picked up it had a spin on oil filter. It uses a adapter that says to use a fram filter.Im trying to cross reference to find out what other brands can be used.I researched the manufacturer but no luck.A little knowledge/history lesson about these would be usefull to me.Pros Cons interchage etc

PH2865A has thread M20x1.5

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/_/N-93xk0?itemIdentifier=195920_0_6864_

Means you can use any filter with that thread as long as it covers the holes, of course.  I use spin-ons with the same thread and after some research and 5 or so oil changes (1500 miles each) I use Bosch 3323 and I am happy with it.

51356 Wix, 33323 Napa Gold, M1-110 - many options out there, I would stay away from Fram.
