I have to agree with the other guys in this thread john, this is one hell of an inspiring thread and i cant believe you sold her after all that hard work.................
Condolences on your mates, never an easy time.
You have created one of the best build threads in this place, it is an inspiration to all of us showing us that you dont need to throw mega bucks into your bike to get it looking good and fun to ride.
Congrats mate you are really a talented man, just a shame we wont get to see you build your own tank...

JohnK6 you are a friggen legend mate!
Thanks to whoever bumped this thread up as I would never have found it myself.
What an inspiration! 8)
One thing John, if you still haunt these threads, exactly what is a "reactorstrip" I never quite understood that one part, but also thank you very much for posting your thread in English.
You can stop pretending that you are Dutch now too,  ;) we know you have to be a Kiwi to be that clever and number 8 fencing wire inventive.
That man deserves a DB (BEER John....that's New Zealand speak for beer) ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I know it as a torque arm.  Keeps the rear drum (or disc) from moving (at least a lot) when the brakes are applied.

the question:

exactly what is a "reactorstrip"

indeed it's a torque arm, Keeps the rear drum (or disc) from moving (at least a lot) when the brakes are applied. (quoted it from the last post.)

i hope to end my conversion on my CB750 to 822cc in 2009, I'm just getting the fun back to go on the bike again  ;D offcourse i will make a lot of pictures of that

Post it in the open forum, that's what it's for.  We are all gear heads to one degree or another, and after this thread I have to believe an e30 thread from you post will be just as inspiring.   ;)

Jesus, now he's making his own wiring loom. My brain's hurting with the intensity of it all. What a guy. ;D

This thread is one of the ones that led me to this site to begin with, found it via Google while doing some research.  The above quote had me laughing out loud for some time :)

Looking forward to seeing more of your work John, you're an inspiration to many.

Truly inspiring!
Gives me hope that maybe I can get mine going too. I especially appreciate the the emphasis on making it safe and re-using existing parts.

just believe in the cb and it will all come together, noting wrong with re-using good old parts

John pleased to see you return, though we had lost you there for a while.
I would just like to confirm what most of the other forum members here have said, this is truely an inspirational thread and pretty entertaining reading too.
Many new Honda owners (of old Hondas) will be encouraged by this story of yours for years to come.
Thank you for sharing and if you ever decide to tour New Zealand count on a free bed in Napier......... ;D Hush.
