We call it "taking a whitey".   :D
I remember taking one on a summers night so I went out to lie on the concrete yard to cool down. After about 10 minutes I came around and got up. Left behind was a perfect outline of my body in sweat on the concrete. Looked a bit like a crime scene.   :-[

Ah yes. But I've only gotten to that phase the first time. Pale, sweat, and probably some paranoia to a degree. That's why I always say first timers to only take a puff or two and wait.

After awhile it becomes like coffee, which is actually better. I don't like doing things that causes me to not function worth a damned. Your body gets used to it after awhile like anything else. The first time doing anything is going to be ultra powerful.

Anyone remember their first chew or first cigarette? I still remember my first chew. I had to lay down for 10 minutes with a spinning head. I was certainly "high" in every sense of the word.

Yep. I've sinced switched to Swedish Snus, which is MUCH better for you. The level of cancer causing agents due to the steam-cured process is amazingly low. In-fact, Sweden has the lowest tobacco-related cancer rates in the world and they've been using this stuff for decades. American chew on the other hand seems bound to kill you at one point or another. We seem to love harmful drugs here.

I tried some Cope again after getting used to the Snus and I couldn't do it. Came close to barfing. I had a hard time believing I stuck that #$%* in my mouth for a year during my industrial labor job. Snus all the way.

Most of the gas stations here in ID now stock General Snus. It's in a black refrigerator. Give it a try and you'll be happy you did. It's cheaper and healthier and you'll still get a kick. Your mouth will smell less gross and you won't have to spit.

Yeah, lester, it is a pretty bad habit.    Its kinda like putting a lump of wet coffee grounds in your mouth, and swallowing or spitting out the juice it/your mouth makes.  Pissed I ever started that habit.

It's still better than smoking cigarettes. Guess what you are more likely to get mouth cancer doing, cigarettes or chew? The answer is pretty shocking.

Shocking indeed.

Cancer
There are over thirty different cancer-causing agents in chewing tobacco. You will be less likely to experience lung cancer because these won't make it to your lungs, but the chances of getting it in your mouth, throat, cheek, gums, lips, jaw or chin are increased as the substance will spend much longer here. This can be fatal, or if you have to have it removed it can result in serious disfigurement in the mouth area. Pancreatic cancer and kidney cancer are also more likely.
To drive home just how dangerous chewing tobacco is, look inside your mouth. If you already chew tobacco then you might see that there are some tiny white lesions there. These are 'precancerous' and if you continue these lesions can grow and become cancerous. You are literally dicing with death and disfigurement if you continue.

I stand corrected. I remember reading somewhere that smokers have just as much, if not more risk of oral cancer compared to smokeless tobacco users. Maybe that's still true, but I don't have the time to check this. Your source certainly doesn't agree with it.

You should challenge anything that is posted on government websites.

Remember that Swedish Snus and smokeless Tobacco (chew, dip, etc) are not the same and do not share the same statistics.

Also, American Snus vs Swedish Snus are both completely different products. American Snus has the same risks as chew while the other one has very low cancer rates (almost non-existant).

So point being, if you are a smoker, or a dipper, or know of any, get them to switch to Swedish snus.

You're better off not doing anything, but that goes without saying. As always, it's the man-made chemicals that kill you with Tobacco (which is why Swedish snus has been so successful because it's purified). Bringing this back to topic, Cannabis is not man made and there is no man-made part to it.

Most of what is in this post is misleading, I just googled a few lines of this post and it took me to a Phillip Morris International site where almost everything said here was on that site and almost word for word, why does it not surprise me that an International tobacco company would be trying to talk down the risks of tobacco related cancers. All snus, regardless of where it comes from causes cancer, the Swedish snus is less toxic but presents the same risk {you chew it you expose yourself to cancer}and it introduces a range of other cancers that you do NOT get from cigarettes,  if you think any different you have your head in the sand.....

That is not true. Please back up yourself when you say that Swedish Snus contains the same risk as American Chewing Tobacco or American Snus.

I'll get the popcorn in the microwave, so be quick.

I can pull up 50 sources easily, but I think this one is the best I've seen. It explains smoking, american "dip", american "chew", and all types of snus all wrapped up in one presentation with empirical data. This is a good read,  and everything I've read in here is mentioned by empirical studies over and over again. I didn't even get as far to read what they specifically studied, but the first several slides was really informative and it felt like they took all the data available on this topic and gave you a no-frills rundown:

http://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/suppl/2013/03/08/tobaccocontrol-2012-050814.DC1/tobaccocontrol-2012-050814supp2.pdf

Smoking tobacco is the absolute worse thing you can do to your health.

Smoking tobacco is the absolute worse thing you can do to your health.

I didn't read past the first line, and i don't need to back up anything, even the most stupid of people know any tobacco product has a cancer risk attached, saying that one is safer or better for you is rubbish.... All tobacco contains carcinogens, now if you used your brains instead of your mouth you would probably find that when it comes to carcinogens or any poisons for that matter, everyone has different tolerances and the way their bodies or immune systems deal with it, I know people that smoked all their lives and lived long into their 80's and didn't die of anything related to tobacco, my Dad smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day and died in his mid 70's because a doctor fcuked up his treatment for a cancer outside his stomach near his kidney, it should never had killed him and it had  nothing to do with smoking , up until that time he presented as a healthy man with no apparent problems that weren't related to age,  on the other side I had a friend Rob that smoked as a young man, gave up for 20 years and died from lung cancer. The "story" you provided was straight from the "one carcinogen, or less of it,  is better than the other" play book and is total bull#$%*, If you think no one gets cancer from Swedish snus then you've totally lost the plot, explain how its "safer" and how you know it won't effect you..? Its all poison and Its Russian roulette , all the associated risks are the same, you may have more chambers in your gun but the fatal blow is still there... Another fact , people have been dying of tobacco related cancers for centuries, way before anyone started adding other chemicals to it, if you think its only the "man made chemicals" that kill you, you really have no idea, Tar includes the majority of mutagenic and carcinogenic agents in tobacco smoke, Nicotine is also now considered a carcinogen, it can cause cancer and birth defects. And Fenders, your use of Google to justify everything makes you come across as a knowledgeable void mate, I know you think your clever but until you start  speaking  from your own experiences or knowledge base i give you zero credibility, i'm not saying your a bad bloke but you have a bad case of foot and mouth disease and you seem to be going flat out to prove it. Now back to the original topic, last time i looked tobacco had nothing to do with the decriminalization of marijuana....   Enjoy your popcorn....
