Don,
Does customs hold up parts for a period of time when they come from Canada? Never ordered any parts from Canada but I had the opportunity a while back to bid on something from eBay that was from Toronto. I passed on it because I needed the part fairly quickly and was afraid that customs might hold up the process.

Note ally Customs does not delay inbound shipments, depending upon what it is. IF the Declaration lists items as chemicals, electronics, etc that are on high inspection list, then it's possible. Most consumer transactions between private parties fly right thru.

Shipping into other countries from the U.S. can cause delays as many countries require inspection further to evaluate Duties and Fees, even on private transactions. So it becomes a balancing act of insurance, Duty and risk to ship some items abroad. Every time I've done it, assume the risk of replacement becuase with shipping manifests it's reasonably easy to track and locate packages.

I received the swingarm and it looks damn good. I also bit the bullet and ordered a set of custom/increased 50mm offset triples from Devin at Cognitomoto, since the stock CBR600RR triple has so little offset.

They will look like the following but not have the eccentric offset adjuster -- just a fixed offset.

Picked up another bike porn part. Since I am not running the stock hub and Brembo snowflake rotors, I ordered a pair of Galfer wave rotors (fitment for CBR600RR wheel) -- not the insane superbike ones but the petal rotors (still cool). They will look like this:

I knew I had to get rotors, since I was no longer using the larger Brembo snowflakes, so I could buy some used CBR600RR rotors or pay a little extra and get something befitting the rest of the bike.

Hah! Finished? They are never finished!

My next step will likely be sourcing shocks. I am between choosing Works, Race Tech or Fox. I am leaning toward Fox, but have to make up my mind. Much thought and consultation has gone into revising the triples and swingarm to maximize handling. I may also need to re-spring the forks when I have a final wet weight.

The biggest stumbling block is getting custom Morris mag replica wheels sourced. I have a manufacturer in mind, but I'm trying to figure out cost and production time. I also need to sort out what type of rear brake, since I want a rear disc brake (not sure if I will go with a F-type or some type of hybrid-modern like the front). That needs to be sorted first before I can get wheels produced. Well before that time, Devin will be done with my new triple trees, and the only thing left to source will be carburetors (likely Mikuni RS34s).

So who knows. It's a journey! Once the wheels are in production, things will go pretty fast, since everything else (except those things above) are already sourced and waiting.

You will not be disappointed. I thought it looked good in pictures. I about crapped myself when I opened the box. The craftsmanship is awesome. Weldporn worthy, too.

Just got me Galfer Wave brake rotors from Riders Discount. Mike Van Wieren at Riders is awesome to deal with and always seems to make a better deal than anyone on stuff like this (Brembo MCs, etc.). The rotors look freaking amazing, and these are just the base models (not the crazy superbike racing ones).

Now to sort out the rear brake issue and the wheels!

If I am going to say goodbye to the Nine Lives bike, it is because this bike will be so much more. I have been trying to incorporate the lessons from my trial and error with the Nine Lives bike and make this one a restomod on steroids -- hence the name Bionic Mongrel. I don't feel a twinge of regret, either, because this bike started off as a non-runner looking like this (and, yes, the 4-4 pipes were completely roached):
