Fuel gage in Tach - anybody know which model Honda had them?
« on: December 28, 2013, 11:30:20 AM »
I'm looking for a Honda Tachometer with an integral fuel gage.

I've found a few on ebay - but the sellers don't identify the make/model.  I need to validate the fuel gage sender resistance range before buying one.  I want to replace the idiot cluster on my A bike with a tach - but want to retain the fuel gage if possible.

Also - anybody know if the speedometer and tach drive speeds (i.e., engine/speedo drive ratios) are common among the various Honda models?

1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

Only the 750A's had the fuel gauge on the SOHC Honda's.

From the FAQ's.

CB750 Speedo  2240:60  Tach 4:1
CB650 Speedo  2240:60  Tach 4:1
CB550 Speedo  2240:60  Tach 20:3
CB500 Speedo  2240:60  Tach 20:3
CB400 Speedo  2240:60  Tach 20:3
CB350 Speedo  2240:60  Tach 20:3

Edit....I believe the three most common speedo ratio's are 1:1, 2:1 and the 2240:60.

You will have to cross reference that to other bikes..
