81 cb650 part!
« on: January 02, 2014, 08:13:59 PM »
Hi there, not sure if this is where I post my question, but I have a 81 Honda cb650 with a broken "Ignition advance unit" I can't find the part anywhere... Not sure where to look online...All the sites that may have it..say the part is "obsolete" ...REALLY? Or when I called a parts shop in Ohio they said they didn't have it either...It seems super tough to get this part, which I know is available being all the early 80 Hondas still in existence today...I've also tried local craigslist but nobody has it. Any help?

I forget, but I don't suppose that bike has mechanical ignition advance? I've done this with success, but I think I need to jet my carbs correctly.  http://home.comcast.net/~loudgpz/GPZweb/Ignition/GPZheiModForPoints.html
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

I have that bike and I would try David Silver Spares or the websight Dave's Ultimate Guide to the 1979-1982 Honda CB650 motorcycle.  This guyknows the bike and has a network that could help you find it.
