I have a friend who has a nice shack on Medicine Lake in the metro area. I have been out a few times and we caught some big Pike (up to 10 lbs) in early December when the ice was thin but it has
really slowed down 
after the first cold snap and the ice thickened. No pics...we throw them all back. He moved the shack to another part of the lake recently to try for sunnies and crappies and he said he was getting some for eating. Sunnies are my favorite if you can find them of decent size.
