Topic: Oil cooler adapter; is this usable?

Bought this on eBay. Does it look the business? Which inlet is out and which is in? I've got a thermostatic valve to run with this for our varying temperature Maine days.

Also, anyone been taking oil temps? If so, with what setup?

Anyone running the cyclex adapter and running the Carpy pipe?

Is it for 750?

I think there is only one way the oil travels.  It comes from the engine under this plate, the hole next to your thumb diverts it to the cooler, than the oil comes back through the other hole - filters through the cartridge and into the hollow bolt and back to the engine.


I say it is usable as long as the O ring seals on the engine block and your oil filter housing seals on this adapter.

I assume the bolt in the picture is hollow and will accept the original oil filter bolt?

Yes, supposedly for a 750. I'm changing the filter this afternoon, so I'll check.

70cb750 is correct. I retro fitted this type to my bike, using a cooler from a later model 650. I have a 4 into 1 exhaust and just had to be careful the hoses didn't touch the pipes.
