Topic: Mystery part needs identified

It may not really be a mystery part at all, but here's the deal:

The bike is a 77 cb550f

I was pulling off my right crankcase cover to get to the clutch and right as I pulled it off, this washer popped out along with the cover. Now I replaced all the clutch plates and started piecing it back together and cannot seem to find a home for this guy. I don't know if I missed something when putting the basket together or what. I can't seem to find this part on the schematics and parts diagrams I've looked at.

Any help would be much appreciated!

It looks like the locking washer for the clutch basket.

That looks like a drain plug gasket made in China(?) That bike's parts all came from Japan. I don't know for sure what it is. but would think it doesn't belong in there. Anything else you serviced recently in the same work area? Could it have been on the floor already?

It's a '77 cb 550. Have never opened up that engine casing before. Not sure if PO had ever done work in there. Didn't really look like it.

Sure it fell out of the engine, or was it already on the floor, from another vehicle?
Maybe got in there by accident when P.O. added oil? It looks like an aftermarket drain plug gasket form a car or truck, or a differential plug.

Well, here's to hoping it was just something I just accidentally got mixed in with the other parts. Now that I think back, there was an actual metal washer that fell out from the kick start lever at the same time. Maybe I just assumed this little plastic guy came out with it.

Guess I'll just button her up and see if everything works okay! Thanks again, fellas.
