cb 350f head gasket change
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:47:33 AM »
Hello,

My cb350f was leaking pretty bad at the head gasket the last time I rode it 3 years ago.  I got a NOS head gasket on eBay. I was looking at my Clymer manual and it said I'd also need spigot o-rings.  I did a head gasket on a cb650 twenty years ago and don't recall anything like that.  Are these still available?  Anything else I need?  I'm thinking the CB650 might have had an o-ring around an oil passage too.  Can you use regular hardware store o-rings?  I'm thinking they wouldn't take the heat.

You have to know the size and thickness. if it's anything like the 550's , neither the hardware nor automotive store would have it . Neither does Honda bike shops... but I have heard that they can be found in Honda Marina division, guess they use them in outboards .
So I'm looking around on line and found a supplier that claims it can make any o ring without setup costs,
or may have what you need in their vast inventory

I wonder what it might cost for a thousand or so , just to have them on hand?
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.
