Does anyone have K1 stipes that they can photograph?
« on: March 11, 2014, 09:29:56 AM »
I am restoring my Gold 750K1.  I am planning to paint the black stripes on the tank.  I have a vinyl cutter and masking material that I can run through the cutter.  So what I would like is a good quality image of a stripe or a set of stripes so I can make a mask for painting.  I would need a straight on shot of a stripe laying on a flat surface.  Also, I would need the length from tip to tail.

Does anyone have a set of stripes they would be willing to photograph?  They don't have to be for the gold tank.  I just need the basic pattern.

Something like this, but larger would work great. My vector program cannot get good enough results with this small image.  I would need the measurement notated by the arrows.

Thanks!!!

OK, I was able to work up a good vector image for the stripe.  It took a few hours of work at the computer, but I am happy with the results.  If anyone is interested in a vector image of the K1 tank stripe, just let me know.  I have it saved in EPS, AI, DXF, PDF, and SVG formats.  I can cut masks for people too.

Now I should be able to cut out the masks with my sign cutter.  I have never tried the paint mask vinyl before, so I am excited to try it out when the time comes.  I will definitely try it on a practice tank before I try it on that expensive candy gold paint  :)  Now I am waiting for it to warm up enough to paint!

Oh Ya,  I still need to know the dimension from tip to tail so I can scale to image in my sign making program.  Anyone?

This is a JPEG version

Yup, I did it.  I have vector files saved for future reference.  You can see the process and results on my 750 build thread in my signature.  Thanks for those measurements.
