Oh and by the way another members bike almost got the production record but ran 1mph short. A 75 K. It ran 97mph. Record is 98! Really makes me want to put my spare F0 engine in and eat that up. Anyone else want to play?!

The Drouin bike may be ready tomorrow. No word on Mr Honda and his 1000 yet.

I gotta head out Tue am.

Early in the week , no lineups..yet
Typically for bike week high nineties..his slip was 70 something degrees , may have been early. I know how the salt reflects back the heat, its amazing and a bit hard to describe..

During Speedweek..early august it was around 103-105. Most days..pits were a mile long...you could not walk the length if the pits without getting into shade a few times..
We were sleeping outside, no tent...at about 1:30-2 :00 am , it would cool enough to get in your sleeping bag.

Thanks for the encouragement :) :) :) :)           The motor runs after the voltage cut-out. Will be trying again in the early AM when its cool.  Jerry is returning to CO.  One more try in PS.........then remove the fairing and try to take the naked record in Classic Gas. They are more organized than ever so waiting is minimal. Go to Salt Team Advanced Landspeed on facebook for a few pics. Will post when I can.

Who's the old goat in the orange shirt?!

Got a brief text right before I got home. The 750 was back out. The 140 did not get repeated so it's a 137.998 record. The fairing then came off and another record at 130.xxx. The 250 Tiger Cub was having electrical issues.

A stock 75 K was within 1mph of the 98.xxx production record. Another member. San Antonio. I'm terrible with names but at least he's Irish! LOL

Another stocker kinda beater (sorry to the rider of my description) with the Drouin supercharger had an open record to go against. He had only gotten to 98 and change due to mechanical/tuning issues but that class was open also so he got a record.

A 849 kitted mid-year K was not tuned properly either but he also got a slow record close to 100.

Our Japanese record err ex record holder, Mr Honda, went to 1000 and set another record in his new class but his speed of 130.xxx was slower than both of Dennis' little 849 records.

Records are there for the picking boys IF you take a bike that's prepared and ready. Let's see, a turbo, a decent 900/1000, a properly tuned stocker, a modified 750 or less and run fuel class. If you want Dennis' records you're gonna have to do some SERIOUS work.

It seems the salt takes away about 15% of your speed due to it's slippery nature. Scottly said something about Dennis using 85%. Looks like he was using 100%.

Bill, I spent 2 friggen hours with 2 different Indian guys without success after it quit sending pix yesterday and the damn phone is almost new. My thoughts are the 16gb drive filled up. I have a 32gb card too and it has 25+ remaining. WTF?! Guess I'll go to the phone store for help by someone that my old ears can understand. Phone is probably good but it's operator is questionable...

OK now that those 700 miles are done I have to drive 150 more to work before dawn. I'll be back online after work tomorrow.

Jerry, the 4200' elevation alone takes 15% off the rear wheel HP, which is why some of the records at B'ville seem low, like 98 MPH for a stock bike. ;)

Records are meant to be broken..........but it will take a few bucks ;D ;D ;D ;D

I talked with (barely and with hand-motions) Mr. Honda at the time-slip window. This was the first time in a LONG time that I was proud to show my time-slip ;)

Scottly is correct that Bonneville will claim about 15% of your PAPER horsepower :o...........which makes it live up to its well known nickname of The Great White Dyno.

On better salt and best conditions, I may have gone a little faster. I am happy with the results and could not have done it without the vast amount of knowledge offered by this forum. I feel that I have built a somewhat stronger motor than most at the 750 level. I did not follow what others have done in an effort to avoid being just like others. I don't know what I will do regarding any future motor builds..........I have thoughts about something close to 1000cc and compete at Bonneville.........but I also have a planned trip to Alaska and a few other places in this wonderful world :) :) :) :) :) :)

We will tear-down the motor tomorrow for tech-inspection and plan to be on the road to the Chief Blackhawk AMCA event in Davenport, Iowa............so it will be a few days for more messages.  Thanks again to all your support and encouragement.

My "paper" HP of 70.27 is an actual 60.38 at 4500". ;) Your aero was worth 10 MPH, on top of the equally impressive 130 MPH naked. Well done sir! ;D
