I sometimes use the stock oil filter housing as a jacking point, using a block of wood on the saddle of my floor jack, lifting just enough to allow the front wheel to spin for brake adjustments, etc.  I realize that I probably shouldn't to that, but it's in just the right spot and so it works really well, I don't think spin-on filters would permit this type of use/abuse.  Random two cents...

If you don't want to wait for one to come in the mail or ordering on from a parts counter just order in bulk, I do that with my 750 as well as my Volvo. I can't get the Mann filters locally that easily, so I ordered two packs of 6 or 8. Same with my cb, grabbed 5-6 filters from my local honda parts counter. When I need them I have a stack, when I get down to the last one or two I order a bunch more, it's not like I'm not going to use them.

You sir, are too smart to take serious. That idea is so smart its crazy.
