Missing something with gators 750 k1

I am trying to put the gators on the bottom of the fork ears as well as the chrome ring over the gator. Am I missing something or have something the wrong way around because it doesn't want to fit for some reason?

Got it sorted. Did some searching of pics on the web and it was just how I had the chrome rings positioned.
