Hey guys,
For better or for worse, I'm 3/4 of the way through a 2,000 mile trip on my '76 CB550 (see post: stranded in Flagstaff).
Amidst trying to figure out an issue with my partners CX500, my bike began sputtering and losing power today, particularly in the 3000-4000 RPM range in lower gears.
The bike is running UNI Filters, 4-1 exhaust. 105 main jets, air screws turned out 3/4 turn.
I've been running a bit rich since getting up into the mountains and I was wondering if the altitude could be causing this. I also suspect worn rings on at least one cylinder (small bit of oil around the spark plug on cylinder #2).
Any ideas? Did some searching but couldn't come up with any previous diagnoses of these symptoms.
Cheers
Ty
