Going to be a long, long summer..
« on: April 15, 2014, 05:03:43 AM »
Oh Boy! Watch your step.  :o

The other half lost her step on Sunday morning and fell backwards into a coffee table. Table wedge into the sofa as she fell.

The pain was, well, I don't have any words really. Actually made me cry as there was nothing I could do. Sent her to Vegas in a helicopter. Six (6) broken ribs. Four (4) to (6) month recovery. There was some bleeding around a lung but that is not a concern now.

Golden years my azz! It's going to be a long, long Summer for me. Even longer for her.

Sorry to hear that, it could have been much worse, but still.

OUCH- ribs are one of the most painful. Not a lot they can do but wait for them to heal. Hope she comes along quickly.

I am so sorry to hear this. Everything changes in an instant sometimes. Pneumonia is a real risk with rib injuries, that's how I lost my mother. Heed any instructions you get about maintaining her activity very closely.

Have injured my own ribs a few times, it is near-constant misery. Best wishes to you all.

That's too bad, tell her I feel for her, as far "Golden Years" I'd like to find the creature that coined the phrase and give them a golden shower at least.

I feel for your wife, fell in the tub and broke 4 ribs myself. Sneezes  and coughs are worst. Take good care of her.

That sucks, sometimes it's the stupidest things that are the most damaging.
I hope she heals fast and best wishes!

I broke a couple ribs in a fall years ago, as mentioned before sneezes and coughs can bring you to your knees and humor as well. What ever you do try to refrain from telling her anything funny because laughter will bring you to your knees as well. I hope she heals fast.
