G'day everyone
« on: May 01, 2014, 02:14:58 AM »
How's it going everyone?
My name's Jp and I am from Townsville in north Queensland Australia. I have been on the lookout for a bike for quite some time now and finally got myself a keeper. It's a 1975 CB400F Super sport...and it's a complete rust bucket with a signs of potential. My wife says I am crazy but I couldn't turn it down when I ended up getting it for 4 cartons of XXXX GOLD beer! (That's $160).
I have never restored a bike myself but am learning so much already as I go on the job. Anyway I am sure I will learn so much more on this forum and look forward to meeting you on here.
Take it easy, Jp. ;D

Hi JP.
Welcome to the best forum you'll come across for CB400F's and well done on your choice of stray dog.
I'm sure you'll have seen lots of nice examples of what your's could look like. You might even have seen mine.
I've been assured by many that the old CB400F goes like the clappers when it's all in tune, but I've also read lots of posts about the trials of getting them in tune.
She might test your patience later but hopefully you'll rewarded. That's what I keep telling myself about mine anyway. ::)
I'm expecting a WooHoo moment like when I nailed my first wave surfing. ;D
Good Luck

G'day Kiwikk, thanks for the positive vibes, I hope I can get the stray dog to the point of only needing tuning up....but for now I'm a long way off that mate. I only just finished stripping the bike down to a rolling frame last night. Looks like I'm going to need a new wiring harness, mine has seen better days. Actually just about everything on my bike has seen better days haha.
Anyway mate I will go and check your bike out now, take it easy bro
