I have previously removed steering locks by drilling them out, but did not want to damage the one on my latest project even though I did not have the key.
The rivet and washer came off with gentle levering with a screwdiver.
The next problem is how to exert pressure from inside the frame tube.
After a bit of thought I found a short M6 screw, but a bolt would have worked. I formed a round eye n a length of wire and put the screw into it and held in place with washers and a nut.
The screw was held in place inside frame tube lining up with steering lock and I then used a tyre lever to put pressure on the lock levering against the screw.
The lock then popped out!
Lock is marked with a number so hopefully can now get a key to fit.
Hope pics help.
