No. That's a system that Trey put together. With the number of miles on that bike, I'd think its more a potential issue with the transmission. Unless he didn't have sufficient air pressure in the tank to begin with.

I noticed on the last pass that it failed that it still had around 100psi in the tank and still managed to slip into false neutral.

I put 140 in and ran again and all 5 gears pulled no problem. Cant seem to figure out what caused that failure. It happened earlier in the day as well.

I probably just need to get the MPS switch and go Electric/air and see if it helps..

A loose chain or one too tight with an air shifter isn't a good combination either. Be sure its adjusted properly. After having trouble with mine not shifting and replacing a lot of internal and external components, I ended up replacing the air kill with an MPS electronic box with adjustable kill time. That did seem to solve the problem. Glad i had that box laying around from another bike.

According to "GOT BRUCE " or " POWER by SAUER " use the MPS AND KEEP THE NITROGEN PRESSURE AT 120PSI , not 140PSI and he has set up more air [ nitrogen ] shifters on the many bikes he has built to win many races ...... bet that ..... or come to Columbus NTR on ANY SUNDAY and all the PRO-BIKES will give you a BOX SCHOOL on the 1320'.

So..

There is a TnT session followed by a motorcycle bracket race at the local track today. Bracket race is import vs American!

I had to switch back to the peanut tank while I have the Honda tank sealed.. So much rust and paint in there kept clogging carbs over and over.. Put on peanut tank and finally had full bowls down the line..

Also my on board air compressor went out a few nights ago.. I had been missing 4th to 5th pretty regularly with 130psi as a starting point. Now my compressor in the trailer wont put out more than 130 and with this slow leak I can't seem to find ANYWHERE it probably wont even make it to the line before losing 10-30 lbs.. So I'm working on finding the leak today and attempting to find a compressor than can fill the tank to 150 or so between passes

Just footshift the damn. Thing.. Work on it at the beginning of the week.. Use soap and after to find the leak
If you are bracket racing,. Having a faster time means less than being consistent..

I have thought about that too Frank.. I'm stubborn and love my air shifter as well as have removed the front pegs and use only the passenger.

I've got a few hours to test and tune this afternoon so ill try and see what I can do. I'll keep yall posted..

Weird thing is I've spent the better part of my day in silence adding 130lbs of air to the system to watch it dissipate down to less than 100 withen 15 minutes.. I checked every connection with soapy water and found no leaks??

I agree, Foot shift that damn thing!!!

I hate to see racers lose good track time to parts malfunctions.. I foot shift everything, I went deep in the 8's without a air shifter.

Probably leaking from the exhaust port of the electric over air solenoid. Take the Schrader valve out, fill the lines with wd40, put the Schaefer back in. Pull the pin out of the shifter lever and press the air shifter button. Do this procedure at least 4 times.

Trey,

It just came to my mind that there might also be an issue with your shift cylinder. I remember now that you're trying to use that big deluxe air cylinder. That system has a huge exhaust port so it uses a lot of air on each shift. You really don't need that big cylinder-no one uses those anymore for that reason. Get the smaller air cylinder as soon as possible. I think you might already have the small electric over air solenoid. If not, change that to the smaller one as well.

Ugh SO MUCH FUN!!

And yes Frankie I've noticed lots of air being used on this shifter. It came from Kevin Drapers top fuel Harley so I'm not surprised. I used 150psi as a starting point all night and had no missed shifts.. Will replace with smaller cylinder ASAP though

Practice was great, something happened at the tree though. I'm not sure what happened really..

I noticed a few other glitches throughout the night on other peoples time slips and even saw a few pro trees go off during the race for some reason..

But when I went to launch I saw two yellows then a red ball before I even moved!

Not sure if my buddy got it on video or not.. I had been running really consistent 13.2x most of the night at 100MPH and even got one pass down to 13.07! Just on the edge of those 12's

Congrats Trey, they are good numbers for a 736. What were your 60' times??
What did you do differently on that 13.07 pass.

I too have had 2 yellows then the red light came up thinking I didn't move but looking back at the video I had slightly, it doesn't take much on a bike, leaving your visor up till the last second, lifting your foot up on the peg, selecting first gear, turning the fuel tap on

all simple little things that should be done before bumping into stage. Good to have a routine

Thinking back it came to me..

You guys know how many things go through your mind as you approach that tree

I normally ride into pre stage, rev up to 6-7k then slowly release the clutch into a shallow stage on the second bulb.

On the last pass I did it backwards. Didn't rev until I was in the second pre staging bulb and it pulled me forward ever so slightly I suppose

Both feet on the ground inline with the crank, Dave Schultz won many races sitting straight up until 60' and starting off with both feet inline with the crank = lean a little forward and your body weight might just give you a YOU LOSE RED LIGHT. Put a staging disc on that front wire wheel, gives you more roll out and less RED LIGHTS as you can own a COBRA and still lose at the line = right BILL ? ET & MPH don't mean #$%* when you lose at the line, you seen my real home made practice tree with the roll out in the clutch lever. Even a 500 mile NASCAR RACE can be lost by .005 second at the win line just ask Eric Jones !!!!!

I ran the big air cylinder from MRE for years without any problem. They said not to run over 120 lbs in it or it would damage parts and it would not shift right all the time after that.
P.S. I agree with 754 and POP's after 35 years of drag racing I can tell you going fast has nothing to do with winning in Pro ET and Street ET.

If I'm being honest all the way around I realized recently that I truly want to go fast. I want to feel thoroughly frightened when I crack the throttle open. I love CB750s to death and feel like I have a good advantage in bracket racing with mine! Once I dial this bike to a low 12 or high 11 ill be finished with tuning for speed and work on keeping it consistent..

That being said I am working on getting a 1000RR to play with for local heads up racing and eventually Pro $$$treet

There is only one turbocharged CBR1000RR that runs in Pro street right now and I've seen it put out a 6.98 pass @ Valdosta! I can't remember his name, but his dad used to race too if I'm not mistaken.
