Any Other Mushroom Hunters Out There ?
« on: May 12, 2014, 04:06:24 pm »
Running a little late around my neck of the woods. Found a couple batches of small blacks but ran into a nice large batch of big Morels around some dead apple trees today. Let the yearly gorge continue.
If you post any pics I want the GPS location of exactly where you found them  ;D  ;D  Be my secret---Promise----

Delicacy! How are the ticks this year Eric? Pretty scary here already. Might give mushroom picking a miss this year.

There was just a news bit on recently saying our local tick crop should be very huge this year. Already picked a few of the ugly little devils off Me.

I realize you live in Cali and may not realize what it takes to grow mushrooms on a motorcycle.

No mushroom hunting for me, and none of my friends scored any but the ticks are finding me. Had two on my armpit and two in my crotch, one attached right between my balls. The little tiny ones seem to be plentiful.

This is what  we typically collect:

Same use as store bought mushrooms but it has more flavor.

Where I live there are a lot of Chinese immigrants.  Unfortunately our Death Cap mushrooms look exactly like edible Chinese mushrooms.  Nasty...

Quite simple actually, if the bottom of the wild mushroom looks like this:

i.e. little holes - they are always edible.
