looking at replacing the wiring harness on my 1978 cb550k. i have found a wiring harness for a 1978 cb550f and was wondering if this would work or do I have to keep searching?

Not familiar with the 78 K model but the F model was only made up to 77. In 76 the F model has removed a lot of the "rat's nest" out of the headlight bucket and moved it to a box below the fuel tank. So I know in a 1976 K vs F model it won't be a direct swap. Maybe someone can chime in on the 78 K models.

Used one on ebay for 39.99 buy it now price. I can't copy the link as I am on my phone. Search Honda cb550 wire harness. It is near the top

Well, as far as I can tell on K vs. F the only difference is the carbs.

electrical should be the same.  Get the manual and see if it has a separate wiring diagram.

The K and F bikes have different wire harnesses, connectors and break out positions.  Can be grafted with enough work; about the same as repairing the original harness, imo.
