Whats a good price for a GL1000 complete front end
« on: June 06, 2014, 11:29:13 AM »
Since I'll have to redo my suspension anyway on my recent CB750K8 purchase, I figured why not upgrade :)

Whats a good price for a complete front end?

I found a guy willing to ship it to me for $200 without brakes or $275 with brakes.  Figured that sounded reasonable but not sure.

It would be coming off of a '76 I believe...

get the best condition one you can find for as cheap as possible because you are gonna spend two hundred rebuilding calipers and forks.  Definately spend the $75 on the brakes as that stuff is getting hard to find and expensive although I think there are dual piston calipers that can be made to fit.  There are also hidden mods you have to do, like modifying the steering stops, finding a top triple that isn't butt ugly, and figuring out a front fender, gauge mounts etc.
If it works good, it looks good...

I just sold a complete front end including wheel, calipers and master cylinder off a low mileage GL1000 for $250.

I'd think a complete front end shipped to you for under $300 is a good price, snap it up.
