Adhesive recommendation

Hey folks.  Quick ? for ya.  I installed this tank trim on my bike a few months back (you can see it in the pic below).  I know the '77 CB550F's didn't come with it, but I think it looks sharp.  The trim came with an adhesive inside of it, but it must not be very good.  After a longer ride the vibrations and bumps seem to be enough for the trim to slide off.  I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good adhesive that would be easy to remove, and wouldn't damage the paint on my tank in case I decide to lose the trim?

A very thin bead of silicone laid into the trim seam should do the trick. Get the clear type, and wipe off any excess the oozes past the moulding with Denatured Alcohol.

Haha, I do the same thing and call everyone "sir".

I almost couldn't tell what you were needing help with on your bike. That trim actually fits it quite well.

Yeah, its on there, but will pop off in spots after long rides.  The tank on my year is different that a few years back, so the trim had to be cut in three pieces to fit (rather than one long piece).  But you can only notice the seams when you get up close.

That's a great point. The trim added to your bike does make it look rather nice. Gives it a "finished" look. I believe on my 73/74 bikes, the tank had the moulding as 3 or 4 pieces too.

It's a well done modification that looks better than stock.
