I just had an idea, but I'm sure it'll get scoffed at.
I'm a bit of a "purist" and nothing eats at me more than the faded redline on my tach. It's a "Whiteline" instead of a "Redline". I can rebuild the rest of my bike to PERFECT, but without a NOS tach (read: $$$$$), my restoration is a joke. How about doing a set of factory-identical faces, then have the tools to rebuild the gauges WITHOUT cutting the band? So that the gauges, (but the tach especially), look factory-fresh and not rebuilt.
I would pay good money for either factory tach faces with a nice, rich red zone and/or a tool to disassemble and reassemble gauges WITHOUT damage to the ring, making them PERFECT. Or even shipping them to you for the work and paying handsomely for it. Yes, I want a RED redline VERY badly.
