Topic: Ducati Sport1000

I went to the Yamaha dealer last week to pick up some Yambond and Yamaha Carb Cleaner, and found out they were a Ducati dealer as well.  Didn't care, pay much attention, etc. until I was walking out the door and saw one of these.  New, red bike, just beautiful.  Now I don't think the pictures on their website do them justice, but if I ever get out of the classic end of motorcycles, I might get me one of these:

 Very nice bike, that duc is. For that kinda money I could build a decent car for my son and still have enough to build an awesome bike for myself. The more time I spend on this site the more I want to build a cafe bike.

Like I said, if I ever get out of the classic bike scene.  I'm in the process of building a cafe 750 myself so we'll see where I'm at after the winter.

Thing needs to be lowered in a bad way - but is sweet.
I got the chance to take one out for a test ride a fee weeksback , and are worth every
pennt of the sticker price (my opinion). As you get the classic cafe look, with modern power/brakes/reliability/etc..

I've got a Monster 750 myself. That sport classic sure is awesome, though. It'll be a while before my purse strings open up that much, though. I've gotta finish my Honda first, at least.

The dealership by me has one for 9500 with only 250 miles. I'm very tempted to pick it up. Beautiful bike, but I'd need to budget in the expensive valve adjustments that those Desmo engines require. Not sure that I can live with the expensive maintenance.

Second on the Speed Triple.  That's at the top of my short list were I to get a new bike.
