any experience with either? gonna be putting in a 45w H4 like most do....but i know first hand how FRUSTRATING a poorly made headlight can be, pointing your precious light in the wrong spots  :(      the candlepower brand is almost twice the price.....

I like my Candlepower headlight FWIW. Didn't have as many options back in the day.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

  • Bike almost back to the 70's 2015
In my bike H4 55/60W from the very beginning. I learned this year on this forum that Honda shipped bikes without H4 headlight. OK, bikes from the early 60's can have a lamp like the one for the rear light.
No problem at all as long you use points. Dyna S consume some power and the alternator is not that powerful.

I have the Candlepower light also. It is so much better than the old sealed beam. It's like night and day.

Any DOT certified H4 reflector will work about the same as any other. Car ones have slightly different patterns I think but would be OK on a bike. The big difference is mounting, if one has a mounting system that will attache to your bucket without mods, it would be the best choice. Otherwise looks and price. Some lenses look pretty cool from the front, some are rather plain.
