My favorite Beezer. Those are sick. They should gimme one, looks like they have several to spare.

             Oh Yeah!! Always been a fan of the Gold Star and the stripped version, the Catalina Scrambler.
        Quite the machine alright. About 15 or 20yrs ago, I saw where a Gold Star, "Still in the crate",
        brought $10,000. No telling what they go for now. Thanks for posting this.

          Jay B,  That's my thinking too. But, I have to ask, how many have ever heard a big thumper like that with a short/ open/ reverse cone megaphone on it? I can tell you that it has a sound all it's own!
Now, mind you, the twins and fours with a decent exhaust sound really fine, but you ought to hear a big single sound off.

Bill, I know what you mean about the sound, but it reminded me of the best bit; I caught them up on the road up to Colchester later & I could smell the Castrol R.

On the exhaust note sound, give me a high reving tuned V4 with four into one race cam, a la RC/NC30 Hondas.

On the goldie side, I had a ZB31 Gold Star when I was in my teens.

It was sort of the in between model of the ones pictured (DB32 350 and DB34 500) and the B31 tourer.

When it went wrong I scrapped it. If I knew then what I know now

                    Hey Sam, A Benley 125 Super Sport, with megaphones, has a pretty #$%*ing sound of it's
            own, when you're putting it through the paces, doesn't it. I think they sound pretty decent
            myself. In fact, my 66' CB72, with a little work and a set of megaphones, sounded pretty good
            while you were putting it through the gears.

Many years ago, when I was a lad, I spotted a Gold Star parked outside the local caff. It was pristine (but of course it was a lot younger then) and had the number plate DBD32 (or 34, can't remember). Our English forum-goers will reinforce how valuable that plate alone would be.

Anyhoo, while I was enjoying the bike, up walks a spotty faced kid, younger than me. Turned out he was the owner. I went home and cried.

I hear ya Billy, the last motor I had in the Benly sprint bike was bored out to 175 with CD175 pistons.
Although I never measured it, the commpression must have been around 15 to 1.
