Looking for Carb Rebuild Kit for a CB750K, Any Suggestions?
« on: September 25, 2006, 06:51:06 PM »
I am looking for a carb rebuild kit for my 1978 CB750K.

By the way, I had a very interesting development with my carbs. The bike, although it runs well, always had a slight miss. I just figured one of the carb jets were clogged and I would "gumout" the obstruction. I picked up the gumout and the instructions suggest to spray clean the outside of the carb before removing it from the bike. While spraying the carb I noticed that the bike would stall when I would spray by the metal flange the four carbs sit on. This flange is then attached to the head. I checked both outside carbs and both gaskets are leaking. Since I will remove the whole assembly to check for and replace the gaskets, I figured I will rebuild the carbs. I am just so excited that I have found this problem, a vacume leak. I have a feeling that the bike will be running better then ever. Thanks, Bob Fliegel.

Dennis Kirk for the kits....approx.$20 per x 4 =$80.There are various places to get new rubber intakes but I'll let someone else here give you a good source for those. You will also need to get a manometer set to synch carbs when you are done or you could pay through the nose to have them done. When all is said and done, you won't regret it.If everything is done properly,it should run like a banshee.Good luck and don't be afraid to post up here with any questions.

its actually pretty hard to find the rebuild kit for the 77/78.  After a lot of searching, and finding that everywhere was out of stock or didnt carry them at all, I ended up ordering just the rubber from honda and soaking the jets in yamaha carb cleaner.  Kinda spendy but worked great. ($20ish per carb)

I've used these guys before. They have kits for everything. And from what I've seen, their kits are more complete than any others I've seen thus justifying their price.

Not sure why anyone needs to rebuild carbs. Sure you replace orings and such and float valves. the rest lasts a long time and rarely causes an issue unless there has been damage.

For the rubbers, try new clamps first. Sometimes the clamps stretch and the rubbers are fine. Be rather hard to find clamps that are the same but look aroujnd and I am sure there is something else that will work fine.
