New blog to track my restoration progress
« on: August 11, 2014, 11:25:13 AM »
Decided to start a small progress blog with instructions on the steps I've completed in my restoration project:

http://www.750four.com

Here's my original build thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=122450.msg1388736

Just now getting into uploading the photos. I plan on adding instructions for each step as I progress as well as price lists and links to the parts I end up replacing.

I'm now at a point where I will be making progress rather quickly (hopefully). Ordered a bunch of new parts this weekend so next week should really put things into gear.

Nice site, love the domain name.  Will check back in later to see what you've done!

Thanks haris,

I'm going to be hitting the carbs within the next few weeks so I may need to grab a few parts from you.

Question: The metal clip that holds the float bowl on, is there a trick to removing it? I remember trying about a month ago on one when I had a few minutes and it seemed near impossible to pry forward without scratching the float bowl.

Suggestions?

metal is going to contact metal due to the nature of the design.  however, it is a very good design that makes taking the bowls off and on very easy.  Just be careful.

I'm not sure what the exhaust was. Those initial photos are actually about a year old. The exhaust was rusted through so I ended up trashing it. Sorry I couldn't provide more info.
