Topic: Oil Light

My oil light will not go off on a 1976 CB550.  There is oil pressure and I have switched out the pressure switch.  There is power at the sensor connection/should there be?

Pretty sure the switch is in series with the light with +12v going to the non-switch side of the light. So if you disconnect the switch, the light should be out. If you jump the connector to ground, the light should go on. If these things are true then the switch is bad, the switch doesn't see the oil pressure (clogged line), or you have no oil pressure.

Exactly, the pressure switch grounds the light when there is no oil pressure to keep it open.
