S90 restore
« on: August 20, 2014, 06:08:26 AM »
Thanks for the website. Just blew the dust off of a 1970 S90, metallic red that has been a catch all in my garage for 30+ years. Got rid of the rust in the tank with vinegar and bolts, cleaned the carb, new battery and it came to life after a few kicks. Purred like a new one. Stripped to bear frame and now renewing each part. I restore cars so I have scarred knuckles. Thought I had the upper hand on this beast until I tried to separate the front struts to replace the seals. Pulled out the snap ring that sits above the top seal and figured the inner cyc   would slide right out. Not so. Tried sliding inner cyc hard against seal but that doesn't seem to be the right answer. So I decided to ask the experts why this little cyc is got me scratching my head. Is it threaded in? Also asking about part suppliers for this ride. I ordered some small items from India to see how that channel  works out. Thanks for any suggestion..

Look for an allen head under the bottom where the wheel mounts?
