Hey all...  Just wanted to introduce myself as a newbie.  I just started riding a couple months ago.  It has always been something I wanted to do, so bought a '77 CB550K recently.  Met a bunch of great people through this forum thus far and excited to part of a great group.

Any advice to a new rider is always helpful.  Feel free to respond or pm me.

The best advise I would give you is the same advise I gave to my son:

1.) NEVER trust the other drivers on the road (even is they are looking at you).
2.) ALWAYS give yourself an out.

Always assume the drivers around you don't see you, most won't.

#4: Learn how to work on your bike. It makes the whole riding experience better when you take pride in the maintenance and repair you do yourself. Don't be afraid to get in over your head, but talk to the more experienced guys here first and do your research.

great advice from everyone... digger- completely agree.  i started working on the bike a little, and know the more i learn the more comfortable and enjoyable it will be
