Help needed identify race parts
« on: August 31, 2014, 09:58:08 AM »
You racers wouldn't normally find me here but I picked up forks and wheels more for look than performance but now I'd like to know what exactly I have. They came off a Seeley framed bike. The forks seem to have a collar on top of slider. Why? It looks to be pinned ? The rear hub I thought maybe had a cb500-550 brake? When Cush drive wouldn't slide out I realized it and sprocket were held by retainer ring ? Strength ? Reason for these things ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tim

I suspect that the forks were modded to fit a fork brace.
Snap ring holds sprocket on on many hondas under 600 ccs.
Take a look at a bike salvage yard, will see many examples..

Btw it was. 750 motor, frame. Rear hub itself looks to be 750. Other then brake and retainer. But to be honest dont know if other hubs are identical to 750

Probably a 500 wheel, hub is probably same dia as 750, As spokes are same for 450,500, and 750.
 Not sure about shoe width.

I agree that the fork was modified. It also has the seal pinned and air valves added. Looks like you would use a needle to add air. Also dual disk set up.

Yes. This hub is narrower than 750. The spokes are excellent. If I rebuild with 750 hub I ca use same spokes ?!?! That would be great !!!!
