CB750K3 Airbox Restoration

Picked up a nice used Airbox from fleabay. Structurally it's in really nice shape...the finish is another story. Any tips on smoothing out the plastic and getting it back to a nice black finish?

Gentle sanding with 2000grit and mothers back to black.

Or there's also the peanut oil method, but you'll have to search around here for that.

Tried the peanut oil.  worked ok.
tried the mothers back to black....worked even better.   still looks good 6 mos later....

Thanks i was just pondering this on my bike, i assume this would also work on the plastic rear fender liner?

Yes. I didn't even sand mine and it came out looking better
