You transposed your numbers, it is 93.00 Euro's or $118usd  + shipping from the Netherlands
which is probably another $28.00usd.
Slap me, but I think I'll use some duct tape for a while longer.  :'(

David Silver has the air box with rubber boots for 39 GBP ($73).  Still not cheap, but better, and shipping is always very reasonable from them.

I haven't checked the parts fiche, but I believe that '74, '75 & '76 all had essentially the same carbs & booties.  I just scrounged around e-buy and noticed several sets available.  I don't know if the intake & manifold booties are the same beasts, but I saw an airbox w/boots in addition to a couple of sets of just boots (presumably manifold side though).

Much, much less ka-ching.

DSS now sells just the boots made aftermarket but good quality for £18 ($36) plus shipping but only up to 76 NOT 77/78
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Hi
I  have  1977 cb550 f2  and have fitted the boots sold by David Sllver .
they are very very good indeed well made and very plyable ,  given the trouble ive had with my carbs and the
fact that ive removed the five times , the old boots would not have stood for that although they were only cracked
on the outside and did not leak air .

The pattern set ds sell is priced as a set ,this is not that clear, so i think they are good value.

with regard to the kestler carb kits sold i  found these to be well made , except for the float bowl seals these seemed
a bit oversize to me (for my carbs this may differ for others ) and did not like getting petrol spilt on them but other
than that i am pleased with all the bits that came with the kit , although some instructions would have helped ie clip
position screw settings etc.

The last thing i would to know is how is the best way to remove the carb bank and refit them  given the space it
took me a long time to refit the boots last and i had to soak them in very hot water ,to get them back in place
but this may be my fault how do you fit yours!!!!!! out there.

hope this is of some help
Dave

Sorry I did not make it clear, the boots sold by Dave Silver do come as a set of 4 and will fit all 500's and 550 K model UP TO 76 Inclusive BUT NOT the 550 K3. The F models have the same carbs as the 550 up to 76 had so they should fit---but i aint tried so i dont know 100%

I just picked up a 550 airbox w/ no boots from ebay for my 550 (going back from pods).  David Silver has the replacement boots, which i just ordered, underneath pattern parts---->CB550F0 75/ CB550F 76/77 (AMERICAN)

It should be the first item listed, airbox to carb rubber kit

This is a late ost but after not finding boots for my 77 550f I found a product called E6000. It is a industrial silicone that is amazing. It repaired cracks that were fully through my boots and made them like new. Very strong stuff that sticks to anything and is still flexible. Amazing!
