ZXR400 parts on a CB350F
« on: September 29, 2014, 02:42:37 AM »
So I found a ZXR400 with a totalled engine (broken valves) which I can buy for pretty cheap.

I'm mostly interesting in swapping the front end with my CB. Anyone know if that's possible with minor adjustments?
I've searched far and wide but wasn't able to find anything.
If someone could just give me some pointers on what to measure, that'd be nice.

I've red some people are running the zxr400 carbs on a 350 so I'm going to save those and sell/give away all the other stuff.
Who knows, maybe I'll put them on some time. Planning to do some performance upgrades when I get it visually done so they might come in hand.

Not sure if the front end will swap -- seems like anything can swap with enough work. But if it does, you're going to have a very modern looking 17 inch wheel in the front with a 120 tire that is wider than anything the rear spoked 18 inch wheel can accommodate. I suspect that any suspension improvement from the forks would be completely overshadowed by the clown steering/handling that would come from such a weird combo of wheels and tires.

I hadn't heard about the carbs being compatible, but if they really are, I'd love to hear about it.
