« on: September 30, 2014, 07:24:27 PM »
Just curious ? if any one would be interested in these spoke wheels , looks like my 1979 CBX and my 1978 F are using the same front end and brakes ? can anyone give me some input on the app ? thanks

77-79 750F\ 79 CBX should be the silver comstar wheel.
The front brake rotor\caliper\fork was a different from the 75-76 750F and will not interchange without a complete front end swap. The rear wheel would be a common interchange with 75-82 750F

Wait a minute.
Is that a 5 bolt brake rotor?
Have you got pictures showing the rotor\caliper?

PM sent on the front wheel.

The reverse Comstar is the black wheel with a raised unpainted aluminum edge.

All the '79 CBX pictures I find on-line show the bike with the standard Comstar, which is solid silver with smooth spokes, the same as the 77-78 SOHC4 750F2/F3.

The black reversed comstar started being used in '80 to replace the silver comstars
due to the problems with the rivets.

That looks very nice and thanks very much for the compliment. I haven't heard from Ken in a while BUT that indicates things are going well with the bike.  ;) I do remember building that top end for Ken....another native of Riverside. ;) ;D
Thanks very, very much for the pic as I don't think I ever saw the bike assembled.
The GL heads would be fun. ;D
