Anyone in the San Francisco Bay area?
« on: October 01, 2014, 05:22:57 AM »
I sold a bike to a guy out there and he seems to be having some (very simple) issues. Things like front brake not activating the light, RPM rising when bars turned full lock, etc. I think something may have gotten jostled around during shipping.
All this stuff was working prior to shipping and I'm trying to coach him through it via text, but I don't think he's owned or worked on a vintage bike before and I'm not sure he understands what I'm trying to get across.

If anyone out there is willing to stop by and give the bike a once over, it would be greatly appreciated. Or, recommend a reputable shop in the area that knows vintage stuff and won't take him for a ride.

I'm under no obligation to fix anything, but I know this stuff was right when it left my house and I want the guy to be happy with the deal.

I think the shipper may have 'pulled at' something on the right side of the bars while unhooking it?

Very possible. It all sounds like simple stuff, but I'm not so sure this guy is a "mechanic", so to speak.

I guess he's not as 'user friendly' as most of us here then...  ::)  :)  too bad he wouldn't be able to put a wide angle cam on the seat while you tell him what to do.

Says he's in "San Francisco, Bay Area". That was the reply I got when I asked what part of CA he's in.
 Camelman, check your PM's.

Hey Scott, I technically live in the Bay Area. In Santa Cruz actually. Did you find out where he lives? I can help if he is close by
