Topic: negative battery cable, where does it go????

hey guys

in reading through some posts it looks as though the neg batt cable goes to the TOP REAR engine hanger bolt correct? my question is "does it go under the nut and washer on the OUTSIDE of the frame, or somehow gets in between the motor itself and the INSIDE of the frame?". if it goes between the motor and frame are there any tips for getting it in there? my fit seems very TIGHT. any thoughts?

Kent, on a 550 you put it on the throttle side upper rear mount as you said, on the outside of the frame, on the outside of the clutch cable mounting bracket. A 500 is the same place but there is no clutch cable mount, just an engine mount bracket.

oops! I should have mentioned, I meant on a cb750KO. I think its different than the 550 and 500??

That motor mount is a long bolt. The neg ground goes on the bolt, then feed the bolt into the frame and put the nut on the right side. That leaves the neg grnd on the outside of the lft side of the frame, uner the head of the motor mnt bolt. IT wraps around the fraem to the inside and up to the battery.

Not between the frame and motor.
