Piston ring order...just checking
« on: October 18, 2014, 02:39:52 PM »
Im about to get this cruzinimage 3 mm big bore kit back on the rods.

Did my homework but still a tad paranoid on the ring order and orientation .

Aside from staggering the gaps, does it look right? Silver ring topmost with markings and edge bevel facing up, second ring is the square edge black ring with markings facing up, third is thin oil washer ring (no apparent markings) followed by the wavy ring, last is another thin oil washer ring (no markings).

Thats's all right.

Staggering the gaps is negotiable. If it makes you feel good (It does to me) can't hurt.

But after assembly, studies show that the rings rotate, so staging the gaps is futile.

Cool. On the rods they'll go then. Finally getting closer to buttoning this engine up. Thanks.
