CB500 Control Switch
« on: October 21, 2014, 09:25:33 PM »
Hey Guys,

I'm trying to fix my starter issue on my bike.  The electric start is no longer working.  I narrowed it down to the control switch.  I opened it up and the wire is disconnected.  I've attached a picture below.  There's an open tooth on the left.  Do I just need to solder the red/yellow wire to that tooth?

Thanks!

There's a little shield shaped phenolic circuit board under a metal tab associated with the start button. Remove the tab and you'll have access to the board. Just re-solder the wire to the board, replace the board and metal tab and you should be good to go

The above pic shows the switch for a CB550... it's a little different from the CB500 switch. This pic shows a 500 switch; remove the lower tab to gain access to the board

Has anyone had any issues getting this back on the bar?  Connecting it to the throttle cable is impossible.
