DID X-Ring Chain Fitted and sealed oiler

Done a lot of reading on here and asked a lot of opinions from old bikers on chains.
So got myself a DID x-ring chain steel finish. must say its smoother and quieter so that's a good start and less adjusting as most of the posts say.
Also blocked the chain oiler hole with a piece of slightly larger than the hole o- ring and a bolt from yamiya. No more oil everywhere , oil the chain every few 100 miles. Think it's a no brainer upgrade

Chainguards are now possible to find when there are new CB750 reproductions for sale. Black or chrome. Yamiya750 and some others.

That's good to know. The original repro market is really coming along.

In my case I didn't want the guard to cover up the top row of the chain. Also, when you use a full length spring type shock, the stock chainguard is often pushed to the inside where it rubs on the chain.

I expect Haymak wants to show his "steel finish" chain as well.

FunJimmy fabbed a great chainguard from a box section of aluminum, very nice. Full coverage, but still shows the chain.

no chain guard for me , no chain oiler to fling oil all over the back end ,
MCRider got it right like my steel finish chain looks better without the gaurd and in keeping of how I want the bike to look ,

Still,it just looks unfinished to me, to not have some kind of guard. Even with an X-ring chain you'll need some little bit of lube, chain wax, etc. to lube the chain/sprocket interface. And where there's grease, there's fling off.

For me, there's that. A minimalist guard is appropriate. With the proper design and finish (Chrome, polish, powdercoat) it should be an enhancement.

And if you're ever taking it to the drags you'll need one to pass tech inspection.   ;)   :D
