axle length.
« on: October 27, 2014, 11:34:14 PM »
Hi all,
I have a 72 cb750 I'm restoring. I have done the front wheel and forks. On assembly the disc touches the fork tube, any ideas?
I measured the axle length 193mm over all. From the shoulder to the end 162mm. Actual length of thread on the axle 22mm. When axle is inserted including the speedo drive, only 16.5mm of thread is exposed. When fitted to forks there is not enough thread exposed for the nut to screw onto. Nut is fitted with the hex side facing the hub.

Hi Jerry. A 750 axle is about 213mm long overall. There should be a 17mm spacer on the disc side of the axle.
(BTW, this was posted in the wrong section, hence the slow response. ;))
