Guys Ive hit a hurdle in my effort to put a 1980 cb750f front end and calipers on a 1974 cb750 and attempting to utilize the spoked 74 cb750 rim.
Ive used some 75ish cb550 rotors to match the diameter of the later cb750f rotor diameter, fairly close but not exact.
They have the least amount of offset that I need to clear the forks.
The clearance is tight but it fits, except for the speedometer hub drive which is my current problem.
Is there a known "slim" speedometer hub drive thats less than 28mm in width?
Perhaps a dirt bike style of sorts?
It does seem plausible to machine some custom plate that would grab the teeth of the hub drive.
But I would still need to trim the hub drive down a little to make it all fit.
Ive tried searching here but I am coming up with nothing. Hoping you guys could save me some time with your infinite wisdom.
There was a post on the ol interwebs of a fella that did the same. His login was "fang". But he never clearly showed how he made the speedometer drive work.
Thanks in advance fellas!
