Mounting ideas for front indicators on CB 550??
« on: November 13, 2014, 02:16:57 PM »
Hey guys. I purchased my bike from the PO without any indicators installed. I'm in the process of getting them on but I noticed that I don't really have any place to mount the front indicators. I attached a picture of what I'm working with. Does anyone have any ideas? Perhaps some kind of fork tube clamp or using the existing holes on the headlight bracket? (although they seem a tad big)

You have holes already on the headlight brackets

I have headlight brackets similar to yours, and I use the stock holes blocked up with washers. Works like a charm. That rusty upper fork tube looks so familiar . . .

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride. . .

Will the stock indicator lights fit there with larger washers? Lol the fork doesn't look like that anymore. They were taken when I first got the bike. Now everything is polished and resealed

Those headlight brackets aren't stock. Normally, there's a pair of chrome tubes with brackets on them that slide over the upper fork tubes. The stock brackets have holes for the turn signals.

But there's nothing stopping you from using the holes in your new brackets, or the actual mounting holes into the headlight bucket.

If you want a pair of the stock brackets, let me know. I've got some.
